Sofia Moutinho is a Brazilian journalist writing about science, health, and the environment. Growing up in the Brazilian Atlantic rainforest fueled her interest in the natural sciences and how things work. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a master's in science journalism from Columbia University. Moutinho was a Pulitzer Center 2020 Post-Grad Fellow, who reported on the impact of COVID-19 on Indigenous communities in Brazil. Her byline has appeared in Science, Mother Jones, SciDev.Net, Ciencia Hoje, and the Center for Public Integrity.
