Víctor L. Rodríguez

Víctor L. Rodríguez currently works at the Center for Investigative Journalism (CPI) in Puerto Rico, as part of the Report for America program. Between 2016 and 2018, he directed the Diálogo newspaper at the University of Puerto Rico. Before that, he was editor and reporter of Economy and Business in Metro Puerto Rico newspaper. In 2019, he received the annual award in the Explanatory Reporting category from the Association of Puerto Rican Journalists (ASPPRO) and an honorable mention in the Investigative Reporting category. In 2018, ASPPRO recognized the Diálogo team — then led by Rodríguez-Velázquez — with the annual award in the category of Multimedia Investigative Reporting and in 2016, he was recognized as Journalist of the Year for his reporting of small and medium-sized businesses by the Puerto Rican United Retailers Association (CUD). He has a Master's in Communication Theory and Research, and a bachelor's degree in Journalism with a minor concentration in Foreign Languages (French and Italian) from the University of Puerto Rico.
