Michael Holtz

Michael Holtz is a reporter on the international desk at The Christian Science Monitor. He previously reported for the Associated Press, The Chicago Tribune, and PRI's The World. He first wrote for The Monitor as a freelance reporter covering Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines in 2013. Since joining The Monitor full-time the following year, he has covered a wide range of stories across Asia, including fish farming in China, deforestation in Indonesia, and human trafficking in Thailand. He is moving to China in September as The Monitor's new Beijing bureau chief. He tweets at @michaelrholtz.
