Mamadou Traoré is an Ivorian science journalist based in Abidjan. He is particularly interested in topics of scientific interest including education, health, agriculture and environment/sustainable development. He has been editor-in-chief of the Agence Ivoirienne de Presse (AIP) Central Desk since 2014.
Since 2017, Mr. Traoré has been the President of "Media for Science and Development," the first association bringing together science journalists in Côte d'Ivoire. Winner of the Ebony Special Prize for the Best Press Agency Journalist in Côte d'Ivoire in 2019, he is a graduate of the English and Communication departments of the University of Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan, and also of the Institute of Sciences and Technique of Communication (ISTC-Polytechnique) in Abidjan. A speaker of our day, and a trainer in his spare time, Traoré is a journalist committed to the popularization of science through the media. In his career, he has covered several major events in Côte d'Ivoire and around the world.
