Melissa Starr
2026 W&M REPORTING FELLOW
Melissa Starr is a senior at William & Mary who’s double-majoring in government and communications.
On campus, Starr is the managing editor and qualitative analyst for DisinfoLab, a student-run research lab focusing on mis- and disinformation. She is also a member and captain on the Mock Trial team, works as a resident assistant, and serves as a middle-school mentor through AmeriCorps.
Starr is passionate about uplifting marginalized and underrepresented communities in politics, with a particular interest in campaigning and political messaging.
Starr hopes to attend graduate school and receive a master’s degree in political communication or a juris doctor.
