The large-scale fire affecting the region of the Transpantaneira highway, in the Pantanal of the state of Mato Grosso, has already consumed an area equivalent to 12.6 thousand soccer fields. In addition to the large area destroyed, there is a trail of suffering and death of the local fauna. The photojournalist Rogério Florentino went to the site on Sunday, September 5, 2021, and recorded some of the affected animals that were rescued.
