The national government is collaborating with the county governmens of Kakamega and Vihiga to erect an electric fence around Kakamega Forest to save the forest from encroachment and other human interferences. The move is aimed not only saving the only tropical forest in Kenya but also to protect one of the richest natural ecosystem and biodiversity in Kenya.
