From '1619' to Langston Project

From 1619 to Langston Project aims to educate students about Black history and democracy through various media formats, engaging a diverse audience of over 500 participants, including first-semester English students at Langston University and local community members. Through critical reading, writing, and multimedia storytelling grounded in The 1619 Project, students will explore local history, such as the legacy of Melvin Tolson and the founding of Langston, Oklahoma, to deepen civic understanding and inspire action.
