April 21, 2020 | 12:00 AM EDTThe Pulitzer Center's Southeast Asia Rainforest Journalism Fund (RJF), hosted a webinar, "Strengthening Your Pitch to the Rainforest Journalism Fund." This webinar featured members of the Southeast Asia RJF Advisory Committee who shared insights about what makes a strong pitch for this reporting grant opportunity.
The panel also shared experiences pitching different kinds of environment and science stories to funders, outlets, and editors. Finally, the webinar included a summary of the components of a successful RJF application and project. Please find links to additional materials below:

This free, 1-hour webinar was hosted in English at 9 am (Jakarta/Bangkok), April 21, 2020 or 10 am (KL/Manila/Singapore), April 21, 2020. While designed for journalists based in and reporting for audiences across Southeast Asia, it was open to journalists from other regions with tropical rainforests. Future webinars on the same topic will also be hosted in Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
"Strengthening Your Pitch to the Rainforest Journalism Fund" was the second in a series of webinars hosted by the Rainforest Journalism Fund, an initiative of the Pulitzer Center. A previous webinar introduced the Global Forest Watch resources to journalists.
