David Owino

David Owino is a documentary film producer and broadcast journalist with at least 14 years of experience. He freelances for Voice of America and Africa News.
Since 2009, Owino has traveled across Africa producing news features and documentaries on inspiring human stories and various issues, including climate change, business, culture, disasters, and more. He has also produced commissioned documentaries for non-governmental organizations, including the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, Act Change Transform, Girls Not Brides U.K., Amref Health Africa, and Pathfinder International, among others.
He is a fellow of the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa for financial journalists and the Strathmore Business School program for financial journalism.
Owino holds a bachelor’s degree in mass media and communication and a diploma in film and TV production.
