Ana Cristina Alvarado is a researcher and writer on extractivism in the Ecuadorian provinces of Sucumbíos, Orellana, and Napo. She has been a reporter for El Comercio in Ecuador since 2014. She writes about local fashion, gastronomy, visual arts, and cultural heritage.
Alvarado studied multimedia journalism at Universidad San Francisco de Quito. She has completed workshops and received certificates in digital journalism from Universidad de las Américas, in fashion image and production from Mindway, in narrative journalism from Sinar Alvarado and La Barra Espaciadora, in contemplation in film from Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, and in fashion styling from Esteban Pomar.
