Jill Langlois

INTERNATIONAL RJF GRANTEE, GRANTEE

Jill Langlois is an independent journalist based in São Paulo, Brazil. She has been freelancing from the largest city in the Western Hemisphere since 2010, writing and reporting for publications, including National Geographic, The New York Times, and The Guardian. Her work focuses on human rights, science and the environment, and the impact of socioeconomic issues on people’s lives.

Langlois is fluent in French and Portuguese. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ryerson University in Toronto and is a grantee for the International Women’s Media Foundation.

She was a part of the team that won the 2021 Science Story of the Year Award from the Foreign Press Association in London and was shortlisted for a 2020 Fetisov Journalism Award for contribution to civil rights.
