Susy Gaby Díaz Gonzales is a member of the Shipibo-Konibo Indigenous people.

She lives in the city of Pucallpa, Ucayali region, Peru. She migrated from her native community of Colonia del Caco, in the district of Iparía, in search of educational opportunities at a time when discrimination against Indigenous people was a daily occurrence.

That reality was one of the reasons she has continued her mission to pursue a law degree to allow her to contribute to the defense of her Indigenous group's rights.

Díaz Gonzales obtained her law degree in 2015. She is currently completing the last cycle in her pursuit of a master's degree in social management at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). Díaz Gonzales also earned a diploma in intercultural governance from PUCP.

She worked in different areas and branches of law, including as a legal assistant in an environmental company and as a legal specialist in the Regional Management of Development of Indigenous Peoples of the Regional Government of Ucayali.

Díaz Gonzales is a member of the National Network of Lawyers. Since 2019, she has served as president of the Bari Wesna Intercultural Association.
