New discoveries in the Brazilian Amazon are still underway, and researchers are faced with the difficult logistics of entering environments that have not been studied by Brazilian science: the high-altitude miles of the Amazon. How the isolated flora and fauna have adapted, what new species may be found in these places, and how this information can help fill in a blank page in the knowledge of the evolution of the Brazilian Amazon.
Collecting these samples, like naturalists 300 years ago, hasn't changed much. However, accompanying these scientists on the roof of Brazil, bringing their impressions day after day of the expedition, transforms reporting into a kind of adventurous logbook.
This project, which includes a documentary, looks into the new discoveries.
