Annonciata Byukusenge graduated from University of Rwanda (Ex. National University of Rwanda) in the School of Journalism and Communication in 2012. She is a Chief Editor of www.rwandanews24.rw and Mentor of Data Journalism at InfoNile.

She is a news producer and presenter at Radio Salus and the chief editor at www.imirasire.com. She has engaged in investigation, writing, environmental reporting, and climate change.

In 2021, she was nominated by Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) to attend the Fifth Session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-5). She is a Fellow of Women in News through investigative reporting in 2020; winner of the 5th Edition of Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights; HDI Rwanda, 2020; and Fellow of Code for Africa in partnership with Global Forest Watch (GFW) in forestation reporting in 2020.

She is also a Fellow of African Women in Media's (AWiM) in AWiM/UNEP Africa Environment Journalism Programme in 2022 and the Rwandan winner in the Women in News Leadership by World Association on Newspapers (WANIFRA).

She attended the training about Environment and climate change reporting hosted by Environmental Reporting Collaborative (ERC) in 2022.
