Patrick Vanier is a French journalist and documentary filmmaker living in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. For two decades, he has worked as a freelancer in Central and Latin America for international news outlets in France (Agence France-Presse, France 24, France Télévisions, Canal+, Arte) and elsewhere (BBC, Belgian TV, Swiss TV).
He has also produced for international organizations (European Union, United Nations) and international newspapers (The Guardian, Financial Times).
Vanier has produced and directed many documentaries with a particular focus on Indigenous peoples. He is a founder of the HILAEA project, whose mission is to document the Anthropocene and highlight biodiversity interconnections and interdependence.
