In Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), village communities are witnessing the disappearance of their sacred forests. Place of ancestral rites and ritual practices, sacred forests are under increasing pressure, jeopardizing their biodiversity and their ecological role. To reverse the trend, traditional leaders, civil society, and governments are multiplying initiatives.
