Adriano Tavares was trained as a cinematographer at the National Commercial Apprenticeship Service (Senac) in 2006 in Brazil. He has worked as a video journalist for 13 years at TV Cultura.
Tavares participated in major news coverage in the Amazon, Brasília, São Paulo, and Canada. Through his work, he has recorded events ranging from natural disasters to presidential and gubernatorial inaugurations. He is active in sports, political, and environmental broadcasts.
Tavares was responsible for the cinematography of the documentaries Valor do Lixo, Questão Racial, Crianças Invisíveis, and Serrana: Uma ilha de imunidade.
His reporting has been recognized by Repórter Eco. He won the Vladimir Herzog prize with the documentary Eles matam mulheres.
