Laís Duarte works as a reporter for the oldest and most awarded environmental and sustainability program in the country, Repórter Eco.

She covers environmental projects, traditional communities, scientific research, and climate change. She also reports on environmental issues for Jornal da Cultura and Jornal da Tarde. She started her career as a reporter in the TV Globo affiliates in Minas Gerais.

Duarte also worked for the TV programs Roda Viva, Cartão Verde, and Matéria de Capa, and was a correspondent for TV Cultura in Washington, D.C. She won the Communication Specialists Award in the sustainability category in 2018, 2019, and 2021.

She is the author of the books Panthera onca-À sombra das Florestas; História das Águas-Rio Negro; Serra da Canastra, infinite diversity; Água- conservação e cultura; Água-Conservação e Cultura, among others.

Duarte has published articles in the magazines Piauí, Brasileiros, Terra da Gente, Cláudia, among others.

Together with the photographer Adriano Gambarini, she writes the column "Earth Stories" for the Conexão Planeta website.
