Irma Tambunan is a journalist at Kompas, the most popular daily newspaper in Indonesia.
She has attended science fellowships, including the Environmental Reporting Fellowship in 2012 held by GIZ-Germany, and the SjCOOP Asia Fellowship for Young Science Journalists, from 2013 to 2014, supported by the World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ).
She received awards from the Ministry of Environment Media Award Prize (2013), Inspirative Journalist from the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (2019), and Dedicated Environmental Journalist from KLHK (2020).
Her passion on environmental issues and Indigenous peoples led her to cover remote and interior forest regions.
